United Against CCP Tyranny: Chronicle of Amsterdam's National Day of Mourning Rally

Civil Resistance Association and China Action Promote National Resistance Movement, Focusing on Persecution of Church of Almighty God Christians

Amsterdam, Netherlands – On the afternoon of September 28, 2025, approximately 150 protesters from diverse ethnic and faith backgrounds gathered at the National Monument on Dam Square in Amsterdam for a "National Day of Mourning" rally. Together, they mourned the tens of millions of compatriots who died unnatural deaths under CCP rule and called on the international community to pay attention to China's deteriorating human rights situation. The rally was co-organized by the Civil Resistance Association/China Action, with strong support from the Support Uyghurs Foundation, Tibet Support Group NL, and Voice Against Communism Netherlands.

National Resistance Movement Manifesto: A Clarion Call for Nonviolent Struggle

As the core content of this rally, Lin Shengliang, head of the China Human Rights Accountability Database, read the "National Resistance Movement Manifesto" on behalf of China Action and the Civil Resistance Association. The manifesto was simultaneously released in August 2025 in multiple cities worldwide, including New York, Washington, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Paris, Berlin, Toronto, Sydney, and Tokyo, aiming to unite global Chinese consensus and action toward transforming Chinese society.

In his reading, Lin Shengliang stated: "Since ancient times, the Chinese people have experienced dynastic changes but have never become masters of their own country, instead suffering long-term oppression. Now is the time. We must, with firm determination and courage, end authoritarian rule and inaugurate a new era of freedom and democracy." He emphasized that the crimes of authoritarian regimes are too numerous to record, and every social class—from workers and farmers to students, entrepreneurs, and even government officials—is a victim of the authoritarian system.

The manifesto specifically points out that nonviolent resistance is the most effective path. "Historical experience proves that nonviolent resistance has twice the success rate of violent resistance. Since 1970, 70% of democratization processes in nearly 70 countries have relied on nonviolent struggle." Lin Shengliang called for: "We are calling for a national resistance movement to be launched within the next three years, using various nonviolent methods such as marches, strikes, and boycotts to carry out large-scale movements to achieve the great goal of overthrowing authoritarianism and opening the path to democracy."

Host Erin Duan, a Chinese Christian, continued after the manifesto: "Suffering has awakened us, and history has given us responsibility. The power of the people is greater than that of rulers. Our ultimate goal is not to overthrow one dictator, but to end authoritarian rule in China and establish a democratic society."

Seventy-Six Years of Tyranny: A History Written in Blood and Tears

At the rally site, timeline posters of "A Century of Humanitarian Disasters Under the CCP" were laid on the ground, shockingly displaying the humanitarian disasters caused from the CCP's founding in 1921 to the present. According to scholar R.J. Rummel's "Democide Studies," CCP policies since taking power have led to approximately 76.7 million unnatural deaths, including a series of tragedies such as land reform, the Great Leap Forward, and the Cultural Revolution.

Human rights activist Xing Songlin from Henan declared passionately: "The Chinese Communist Party is the disaster star of the Chinese nation! It is not the motherland! It is not China! It is a group of thieves who have kidnapped our motherland!" He enumerated CCP crimes: "We will not forget their siege of Changchun, starving hundreds of thousands of compatriots in a human tragedy. We will not forget that during the Great Leap Forward, when weather was favorable with no natural disasters, they starved 30 million people to death. We will not forget the ten years of catastrophe during the Cultural Revolution, the lives of tens of millions of intellectuals destroyed, and countless families ruined!"

Dissident Jiang Hong from Harbin, Heilongjiang, said emotionally: "I am from Harbin, Heilongjiang, China. My name is Jiang Hong. My grandmother was beaten to death by land reform activists on March 18, 1951. At that time, my grandmother was still pregnant." Yue San from Zhengzhou, Henan, also shared similar family tragedies. He called for: "I hope everyone can put aside all prejudices, unite in purpose, and jointly promote the overthrow of the Communist Party's rule, end the Communist Party's dictatorship, and help China achieve democracy, freedom, and constitutional government as soon as possible."

Church of Almighty God Christians: A Suffering Group Under Religious Persecution

At this rally, the participation of approximately 80 Church of Almighty God Christians was particularly notable. They wore uniform black T-shirts printed with "Democracy, Freedom, Civilization" and held blue banners reading "Unite Against CCP Tyranny! Defend Religious Freedom, Stop Human Rights Abuses!"

According to the Church of Almighty God's 2024 annual report, CCP government persecution of the church continues to escalate. In 2024 alone, at least 11,156 Christians were arrested, an increase of nearly three times compared to previous years. Christian Miao Qingli disclosed more detailed data in her speech: "In 2024 alone, 19,053 Christians were arrested, 2,175 were sentenced, of which 168 received sentences of seven years or more, and at least 24 were persecuted to death!"

She specifically mentioned a horrifying case: "Last December, in Changchun, Jilin, two Church of Almighty God Christians were arrested and beaten to death by police just two days later! Their only 'crime' was—believing in God and spreading the gospel!" Miao Qingli displayed photos at the scene of Christians who had been persecuted to death by CCP police, moving many attendees to tears.

Christian Wen Ke once dreamed of becoming a police officer but gave up this dream after seeing the darkness within the CCP. He said: "After believing in God, I saw that the church has righteousness, truth, and is full of love and peace. However, I narrowly escaped being arrested by CCP police many times, and brothers and sisters around me were arrested, subjected to torture, and even lost their lives to protect me." Even after fleeing overseas, Wen Ke could not escape CCP threats: "The CCP has harassed and threatened my family many times, even trying to get family members to help bring me back to China. This feeling is terrifying—the CCP is like a ghost, and no matter where I go, I cannot escape."

Christian Xiao Gaigai quoted from the Bible's Book of Revelation 12:9 in her speech: "The great dragon—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray." She stated: "Facts have already proven that the CCP is the devil Satan prophesied in the Bible." She called on the international community: "Don't be silent anymore! Don't believe the CCP's lies anymore! Please pay attention to the persecution happening in China. Please speak out for religious freedom in China!"

Shi Xiaxin attended the rally with his parents, Shi Wenliang and Deng Suping. He said emotionally: "When I was still young, my father was arrested by police for believing in Almighty God and attending gatherings, and sentenced to three years. During my father's imprisonment, my mother and I were often harassed and threatened by police. At school, I was mocked by classmates and teachers. Those years were like a nightmare for me, full of fear." Shi Xiaxin exposed the CCP's hypocrisy: "The CCP signed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and externally promotes that Chinese people have religious freedom and human rights freedom, but in reality, these are all deceptive lies."

Hu Xiaoying spoke through tears, recounting her own persecution experience. She said: "Eight years ago, because I believed in Almighty God, I personally experienced CCP persecution in my hometown. I witnessed brothers and sisters around me being arrested and beaten; and I myself, because of persisting in faith, was deprived of human rights and freedom that should have been mine, lost the dignity and security I deserved." Forced to flee persecution, she had to leave her homeland: "Eventually, I was forced to leave my relatives, leave everything familiar to me, and with a broken heart, wander to a foreign land." Many Christians at the scene were moved to tears by her testimony.

Christian Kang Qiao emphasized in his speech: "Truth and light are always the nemesis of evil and darkness! No evil force can erase or conceal them!" He called on governments and international organizations: "Don't be deceived by CCP propaganda anymore! Don't remain silent in the face of money and interests! Please speak out for the persecuted in China, let the world hear those cries suppressed in prisons and darkness!"

Cries of Ethnic Minorities: Genocide Is Underway

Tsering Jampa, chairperson of Tibet Support Group NL, greeted everyone with the Tibetan phrase "Tashi Delek" before stating sorrowfully: "In two days, on October 1st, billions of people around the world must pay attention to the People's Republic of China. Today I stand here representing the 6 million Tibetans who have lived under Chinese occupation for over 76 years."

She exposed the cultural genocide policy the CCP implements in Tibet: "Millions of Tibetan children aged 4 to 18 are forcibly sent to collective boarding schools. In these boarding schools, Tibetan children separated from their parents never see their parents, can never speak their own language. They are forced to speak Chinese, forced to learn Chinese, they are indoctrinated with Chinese Communist Party ideology." Tsering Jampa angrily pointed out: "This repressive, destructive policy is nothing other than cultural genocide, committed by Xi Jinping and his followers."

She particularly emphasized Tibet's closed state: "Today's Tibet is inaccessible, you are not allowed to go to Tibet, which is why you don't hear any news. My friends, Tibet is more difficult to enter than North Korea. The Chinese Communist Party wants the world to forget Tibet, it wants the world to forget Tibetans, 6 million Tibetans."

Abdurehim Gheni, chairman of the Support Uyghurs Foundation, recounted his family's tragedy. He stated: "Nineteen members of my family are victims of these atrocities. Over 3 million Uyghurs are detained in concentration camps. The Uyghur language, culture, history, and religion are being destroyed."

Abdurehim recalled a painful experience in 2024: "In May 2024, I was invited by the World Citizen Court in The Hague to testify. Just two days before testifying, I received a call from my brother. He had been threatened by Chinese police and urged to stop me from testifying. He sent me a video of my father lying in bed in terrible condition." Despite facing enormous pressure, Abdurehim bravely testified: "I even submitted this video as further evidence of Chinese atrocities to the World Citizen Court." However, tragedy still occurred: "Two months later, on September 17th, I received the devastating news that my father had died in a concentration camp from a friend."

He stated firmly: "Hearing this news broke my heart, but it didn't weaken me; instead, it ignited my anger and determination against the oppressive Chinese government. This strengthened my resolve to continue the struggle for freedom and justice. Until my last moment, I will continue this struggle."

Transnational Repression: CCP's Long Arm Reaches Overseas

At the rally, approximately 200 Chinese and English leaflets were distributed, specifically exposing the behavior of CCP agent and PLA veteran Cai Yong in participating in transnational repression in the Netherlands on behalf of the CCP. The leaflets pointed out that Cai Yong is a listed committee member of Wencheng County, Zhejiang Province, and simultaneously serves as vice president of the Netherlands branch of the China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification, which is subordinate to the CCP United Front Work Department. In January 2025, Cai Yong photographed and intimidated Chinese New Year protesters at Rotterdam's Zuidplein Theater, assisting the CCP's transnational oppression. After the report was published, the Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad's website suffered a large-scale DDoS cyberattack, suspected to be retaliatory.

Cantonia dissident and event organizer Jiang Peikun elaborated on the severity of CCP transnational repression in his speech: "Over the past decade, we have witnessed a series of shocking events. From the 2014 'Fox Hunt Operation,' where approximately 700 people, including dissidents and ethnic minorities, were forced to 'voluntarily' return to China through kidnapping, threatening family members, and other means, to now, in 2025, the CCP openly demanding Thailand forcibly repatriate 40 Uyghurs."

Jiang Peikun exposed CCP infiltration activities in the Netherlands: "They even infiltrate our circles. In the UK, a Hong Kong student who obtained refugee status was accused of accepting funding from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in exchange for intelligence on overseas Hong Kong people and pro-democracy organizations." He specifically pointed out: "The CCP even injects United Front funds into Dutch politics through CCP-controlled Chinese enterprises sponsoring the NL Plan party and multiple Chinese business associations. They use any means necessary to launch business projects in multiple cities, with the ultimate goal of courting mayors and councilors to achieve the goal of interfering in Dutch elections and internal affairs."

Jiang Peikun called for: "Their purpose of transnational repression is only one: to silence us, to plant seeds of fear in our hearts, to make everyone who wants to speak hesitate. But we must clearly recognize that fear is the CCP's most powerful weapon of repression; and our silence opens the door to their victory. Only when we bravely speak out can we completely shatter their illusions."

Wei Zhijian, member of the Overseas Committee of the China Democracy Party, specifically mentioned two cases of transnational repression: "We must remember two names: Zhang Yadi—a brave young woman who was secretly arrested and detained for a long time after speaking out overseas and returning to China. Hu Yang—a student studying in the Netherlands who was arrested and imprisoned when returning home to visit relatives simply for speaking the truth overseas. He should have been pursuing knowledge in the classroom, but was pushed into prison by CCP tyranny!" Wei Zhijian angrily pointed out: "This is naked transnational repression, this is naked terrorist rule!"

Firm Stance of Democratic Party Members and Dissidents

Li Qiu, chairman of the Overseas Committee of the China Democracy Party, systematically criticized the CCP regime in his speech: "Over the past 76 years, through successive movements—land reform, industrial and commercial transformation, Three-Anti, Five-Anti, Anti-Rightist, Cultural Revolution, June 4th 1989, 1999 suppression of Falun Gong, anti-extradition, Xinjiang concentration camps—every class and ethnic group across China has been purged once over. Since the CCP forcibly seized the Republic of China's territory on the mainland and established its regime in 1949, Chinese people have not been liberated but imprisoned."

Li Qiu particularly pointed out the CCP's rule by lies: "The CCP controls the world's largest propaganda system, whose job is to lie. The CCP's biggest lie is: serving the people. Nowadays, most Chinese people understand that serving the people is a shameless lie." He stated: "Today, the Chinese people are gradually awakening, more and more Chinese people are seeing the CCP's true face. They are beginning to question the CCP, resist the CCP, until they overthrow the CCP. Here, we firmly believe that justice will triumph over evil. The CCP will soon perish."

Sui Xiaobo, member of the Overseas Committee of the China Democracy Party, approached from the perspective of the War of Resistance history, exposing the CCP's falsification of history. He cited the work of young documentary filmmaker Lai Endian: "He spent a full fifteen years visiting 170 veterans of the War of Resistance, rescuing precious oral histories. Through his lens, we heard the most genuine voices from the depths of those elders' hearts: some said they became 'three-no prisoners'—no crime, no sentence, no verdict; some said 'no one has visited me in this lifetime, you are my sunshine.'"

Sui Xiaobo emphasized: "When the full-scale War of Resistance broke out in 1937, the CCP was merely a small party occupying a corner; they had no ability to confront Japanese forces head-on. What truly supported the life and death of the Chinese nation was the flesh-and-blood Great Wall of the Kuomintang's frontal battlefield." He pointed out the CCP's hypocrisy: "What did they do after coming to power? Not fulfill promises, but create terror. Three-Anti Five-Anti, Anti-Rightist, Great Leap Forward, Cultural Revolution... successive political movements took the lives of tens of millions of ordinary people."

Dissident Yu Yang from Anhui clearly expressed in his speech: "Every year on October 1st—for the CCP, it's the so-called 'National Day'; for countless Chinese people, it's a National Day of Mourning." After enumerating CCP crimes, he emphasized: "These are not historical 'accidents,' but inevitable products of the CCP system—a regime with totalitarianism as its essence, lies as its weapon, and violence as its means will only continue to create suffering."

Chen Zhi, member of the Overseas Committee of the China Democracy Party, specifically commemorated the Hong Kong Umbrella Movement in his speech: "This year, September 28th marks the 11th anniversary of Hong Kong's Umbrella Movement. In 2014, Hong Kong young people used umbrellas to shield tear gas, using peaceful assembly to fight for genuine universal suffrage." He pointed out: "Today, commemorating the Umbrella Movement on the eve of the CCP's National Day is precisely to tell the world: the CCP regime does not represent the Chinese people; its so-called 'National Day' is merely singing praises to the dictatorial regime."

International Solidarity and Call to Action

The English introduction played at the rally site attracted many square tourists to stop and watch. Volunteers distributed 500 English leaflets on-site, telling international tourists and overseas Chinese about the century of humanitarian disasters caused by the CCP's dictatorial regime, persecution of religious beliefs, and how to resist the CCP regime.

The leaflet content detailed how to support actions against CCP tyranny: boycott Chinese companies, avoid using platforms related to forced labor such as Temu, AliExpress, Shein; support Dutch parliamentarians and hardline candidates from the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC); oppose pro-China candidates; raise awareness, spread truth through social media; support victims, donate or join organizations like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.

Dutch human rights activist Max van den Berg also attended the rally, expressing concern and support for China's human rights situation. Tsering Jampa, former Executive Director of International Campaign for Tibet Europe and chairperson of Tibet Support Group NL, added at the end of the rally: "As a Tibetan, I am proud to stand here in solidarity with our comrades from China. We oppose the Chinese Communist Party, we oppose policies under Xi Jinping's leadership. Make no mistake, we stand here not against the Chinese people."

She called on the international community: "We need the support of people around the world, we need God's support to oppose tyranny, to oppose Xi Jinping's dictatorship. Our numbers may be small, but we represent something very important: freedom, human rights, dignity that we all cherish."

Historical Significance and Future Prospects of the National Resistance Movement

The National Resistance Movement initiated and promoted by China Action and the Civil Resistance Association represents a new stage of overseas Chinese resistance against CCP tyranny. Since the simultaneous release of the "National Resistance Movement Manifesto" in multiple cities worldwide in August 2025, this movement is consolidating broad consensus and action among global Chinese toward transforming Chinese society.

The significance of this movement lies in its first systematic proposal of a complete plan to overthrow CCP authoritarian rule through nonviolent struggle. The manifesto clearly states: "All dictators, whether ancient or modern, domestic or foreign, depend on the obedience, cooperation, and support of the people. It is uninterrupted obedience that grants dictators seemingly supreme power. As long as people refuse to obey, rulers cannot rule."

More importantly, this movement unites persecuted groups from different backgrounds—Christians, Uyghurs, Tibetans, democracy activists, rights defense lawyers, etc.—forming an unprecedented united front. As Tsering Jampa said: "When we support the right of self-determination for the people of East Turkestan, the people of Southern Mongolia, the people of Hong Kong, we support every people with the right to self-determination. We have the right to decide our own freedom, so today we stand here in solidarity with brave Chinese citizens."

Event organizer Jiang Peikun stated in his closing remarks: "Today, as a volunteer who organized this rally, I stand together with everyone. This united strength is immeasurably precious. Since the CCP was established in 1921, and even after establishing its regime in 1949, it has brought too much suffering to our homeland and our compatriots. The truth has been buried by the CCP. We overseas Chinese have an obligation to speak out for them."

Jiang Peikun particularly emphasized Cantonese people's responsibility: "Today's event was organized by Liu Feilong and me over more than a month. We both come from Guangdong, hoping to set an example for tens of millions of overseas Cantonese people. Not all Cantonese people live in peaceful times and only focus on working hard. We Cantonese also have a sense of responsibility, also care about social justice, and can bravely stand up to fight against the CCP's dictatorial regime!"

Finally, Jiang Peikun issued the era's cry: "Seventy-six years, enough, time's up, CCP get lost! The regime the CCP announced at Tiananmen Gate has been exactly 76 years. Time's up, the CCP regime needs to get lost, the time to settle accounts for its crimes has come. We should all stand up, roar bravely, promote the national resistance movement, and send the CCP through the last leg of its evil life!"

The rally officially ended at 4:20 PM, with host Erin Duan reading the closing remarks: "Today, we have lit the flame of memory and expressed our firm determination to defend human rights and justice. Thanks to every participant, volunteer, and supporter present. Your courage and persistence are the most powerful response to tyranny. Today's rally ends here, but our struggle will not stop. Let us continue to speak out, expose persecution, and defend freedom. May peace and justice be with us!"

All attendees took a group photo and shouted slogans together: "Respect human rights! Stop persecution! Religious freedom! Freedom of speech! Overthrow the Communist Party! Judge Xi Jinping! Freedom belongs to the people! We want freedom! We want universal suffrage! We want the Communist Party to step down! We want Xi Jinping to step down!" These slogans echoed through Amsterdam's Dam Square, conveying to the world the Chinese people's firm determination to pursue freedom and democracy.

This rally is not only a commemoration of history but also a declaration for the future. As the "National Resistance Movement Manifesto" states: "We hereby issue this manifesto, calling on everyone to make decisions, act in unison, end thousands of years of authoritarianism, and embrace a new era of freedom, equality, and glory! We rise, we advance, we shall prevail!"
