Voice of Anti-CCP: Solidarity Rally for Wenzhou Yayang Church Successfully Held
Approximately 70 Overseas Chinese Christians and Human Rights Defenders Hold Peaceful Demonstration in The Hague to Condemn CCP's Religious Persecution
[Voice of Anti-CCP, The Hague, December 28, 2025] On the afternoon of December 28, 2025, Voice of Anti-CCP, together with multiple overseas Chinese Christian organizations in the Netherlands, successfully held a peaceful rally titled "Stand with Wenzhou Yayang Church - Stop Religious Persecution · Free Detained Christians" in front of the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands. Approximately 70 Chinese Christians, pro-democracy activists, and human rights defenders from across the Netherlands gathered to condemn the CCP's large-scale crackdown on Yayang Church in Taishun County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, and to call on the international community to pay attention to the systematic persecution faced by house churches in China.
The rally began at 1:30 PM and lasted until 3:30 PM, remaining peaceful and orderly throughout. Despite the cold weather, with temperatures only between 2°C and 4°C, participants stood firm for two hours, demonstrating through action their commitment to religious freedom and support for persecuted compatriots. Dutch police dispatched two officers and one police car to supervise the scene, only inquiring about the number of participants and end time without any intervention. The event strictly complied with Dutch laws and regulations.
Yayang Church Raided by Thousands of Police, Hundreds of Believers Detained
Yayang Church is located in Yayang Town, Taishun County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, consisting of a network of 12 independent house churches. These church believers maintain contact and worship together but operate independently, not affiliated with the official "Three-Self Patriotic Movement" system. For years, Yayang Church has become a key target for local government crackdowns due to its refusal to comply with authorities' demands to hang national flags in churches, install surveillance cameras, and other "Sinicization" measures.
According to multiple sources and human rights organization reports, this crackdown can be traced back to Zhejiang Province's "Three Rectifications and One Demolition" campaign in 2013. At that time, authorities demolished church crosses on a large scale under the pretext of rectifying illegal buildings, affecting hundreds of churches in the Wenzhou area. On April 21, 2017, over one hundred people from the Yayang Town government forcibly entered Banling Church to install surveillance cameras, leading to violent clashes. Multiple believers were injured, with two people pushed from heights and sent to hospital unconscious.
The persecution of Yayang Church escalated further in 2025. On the early morning of June 24, 2025, Yayang Town Mayor Li Bin led over one hundred people to forcibly enter Yayang Church without presenting any legal authorization, demolishing walls and gates, and forcibly raising the national flag inside the church, while believers were intimidated and coerced. Taishun County Public Security Bureau Director He Lei was accused of abusing police power, signing and executing illegal notices targeting Yayang Church leaders and believers, providing police support for persecution and directly facilitating and expanding the systematic crackdown on house churches.
The most severe crackdown occurred from December 13 to 18, 2025. Authorities mobilized over one thousand police officers, SWAT teams, and firefighters from Hangzhou, Pingyang, and other areas to raid at least 12 gathering sites in Yayang Town. Hundreds of Christians were taken away for interrogation during worship services, multiple leaders were criminally detained, and Lin Enzhao and Lin Enci were placed under wanted notices with charges including "picking quarrels and provoking trouble." After the operation, local government even set off fireworks to "celebrate," an act widely regarded as blatant mockery of faith, triggering strong international condemnation.
These actions seriously violate Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and also contradict China's constitutional provisions on religious freedom. ChinaAid issued a statement on December 19, calling this a serious violation of religious freedom and calling for an independent investigation.
Rally Scene: Banners and Placards Call for End to Persecution
The rally was held on the sidewalk in front of the main entrance of the Chinese Embassy in The Hague. The site setup was striking: a 6-meter-long black banner with Chinese and English text was prominently displayed, with a photo of Yayang Church on the left side and the text "Faith Is Not a Crime! Free Believers of Wenzhou Yayang Church!" and "Over 1,000 Police Raided Yayang House Church; Leaders Lin Enzhao & Lin Enci Detained; Global Condemnation of CCP's Religious Persecution" on the right side.
Each participant held bilingual Chinese-English placards with black text on white background, including "Faith Is Not a Crime! 信仰不是罪!", "Stop Religious Persecution! 停止宗教迫害!", "Free Detained Christians! 释放被捕基督徒!", "Stand with Yayang Church 声援雅阳教会", "Pray for Yayang Church 为雅阳教会祷告" and "Stop Persecuting House Churches 停止打压家庭教会". These placards directly addressed the CCP's persecution and conveyed a clear message to the international community.
Prayer and Testimony: Victims Share Experiences of Exile
Feilong Liu, head of Voice of Anti-CCP, hosted the opening ceremony. He stated: "The CCP has been trampling on the basic human rights of the Chinese people. Various religious groups have long been systematically suppressed by the CCP's dictatorial regime. In recent years, many house churches have been brutally suppressed, such as The Church of Almighty God, the Shouters, Zion Church, and Early Rain Covenant Church. Recently, the CCP's dark hand has reached out to the house churches in the Yayang area of Wenzhou, Zhejiang."
Before the event began, Christian Xia Ying led all participants in prayer for Yayang Church. She prayed for God's care for the Yayang house church suffering from suppression: "On December 15, 2025, thousands of police forces raided the church, worship was interrupted, believers were taken away, and more than 10 churches in Yayang Town were subjected to large-scale suppression and encirclement. These actions seriously violate religious freedom and basic human rights. Lord, we ask you to watch over Yayang Church, grant peace in persecution, and give hope in darkness." The entire audience responded in unison: "Lord, may you watch over Yayang Church!" "May God give persecuted brothers and sisters faith and strength!"
Subsequently, multiple Christians took turns sharing their personal experiences of persecution. Christian Jiang Li stated that Wenzhou authorities deployed thousands of police and riot forces to carry out large-scale arrests of unarmed Christians, "They were only gathering normally, praying, worshiping, and studying the Bible, yet they were regarded as hostile forces by the CCP." She pointed out that this is not an isolated case; the CCP's persecution of all religious faith groups has never stopped, especially the increasingly severe crackdown on The Church of Almighty God. In 2024 alone, 19,053 members of The Church of Almighty God were arrested, 2,175 were sentenced, 168 received sentences of seven years or more, and at least 28 died due to persecution. She called on the international community not to believe the CCP's lies anymore.
Song Mengyuan shared that during her days of believing in God in China, she lived in fear every day, with many brothers and sisters arrested and imprisoned. To escape police pursuit, she was forced to move constantly and eventually fled China. She emphasized that the Yayang incident is a microcosm of the CCP's systematic suppression of house churches, calling on governments and international organizations to continue paying attention to the situation of house churches in China.
Cai Yutong recounted the tragedy of his family being torn apart. He said the CCP uses money to entice people to report believers, and he was forced to flee overseas after being reported for preaching the gospel. Even overseas, the CCP continues to harass his parents and threaten his family. His wife was also arrested and detained by police for attending religious gatherings and was forced to sign a guarantee to abandon her faith. He called on international human rights organizations to conduct independent investigations, emphasizing that "silence will not bring safety, and forgetting will only condone persecution."
Christian Wang Yan from Zhejiang quoted the Bible to encourage persecuted believers: "Jesus Christ is the truth, the way, and the life. Truth may be suppressed for a time, but it will never be buried." Zhang Zhenxing stated: "If we don't speak up for Yayang Church today, more churches will be forced into silence tomorrow. I am a Christian and a Chinese person forced to flee overseas. In my own country, I cannot freely worship God or safely maintain my faith."
Dissidents Strongly Condemn CCP Tyranny
Speeches by anti-CCP activists and dissidents were equally passionate, focusing on the tyrannical nature of the CCP. Christian Wei Zhijian from Guangxi angrily stated that around December 13, 2025, near Christmas, the CCP dispatched thousands of fully armed police who brutally invaded Yayang Town, blocked roads, broke down doors, and barbarically arrested over one hundred innocent believers within two days. "This is not law enforcement, this is violence, this is crime!" He called on the world to unite through diplomatic pressure, media exposure, and global prayer to form an unstoppable torrent of justice.
Dissident Wu Xianfen from Heilongjiang pointed out that the Chinese government's suppression is undemocratic behavior. Chinese people should have the basic right to religious freedom, and the Chinese government should not force individuals to violate their beliefs. Her son Jiang Hong added: "In a pluralistic society, religious freedom is not only a basic right but also a touchstone of social conscience."
Christian Hao Wangyong from Gansu called on the Chinese government to respect the constitution, guarantee religious freedom, and immediately release all illegally detained Christians. He emphasized: "We must be clear: prayer is not a crime, loving God is not rebellion. Christians are peaceful citizens who pursue spiritual elevation and neighborly love, not worldly power." He stated bluntly, "The Communist Party was born in injustice and will die in shame. Xi Jinping will be infamous for eternity!"
Dissidents Xing Songlin and Du Binghui from Henan emphasized that Yayang house church has adhered to the bottom line of faith, refusing to remove or hide crosses, refusing to replace religious slogans with dictator's quotations, refusing to hang dictator's portraits, refusing to join the Three-Self church system controlled by the CCP, and refusing to compromise faith with politics. The CCP's violent closure and arrests not only harm Yayang Church believers but also expose its systematic oppression of religious freedom. They called on the international community to pay high attention and exert political, economic, and diplomatic pressure on the CCP.
Christian dissident Liu Xiaobin read the "Letter to All CCP Party Members and Cadres," calling the CCP's 100 million party members the world's largest cult organization, warning all levels of CCP administrative and judicial departments: "You are inhuman and unconscionable. If you do not repent, stop arresting religious faith groups, and release Christians, you will be punished by God; what awaits you is the sulfur fire of hell."
Christian Liu Bowen, a Jehovah's Witness from Hubei, analyzed: "This crackdown stems from a governance logic unwilling to accept pluralistic thinking. Religion provides a set of moral standards that transcend power, telling people what is good and what is evil. When a regime tries to build society entirely on a single ideology, such a moral system is viewed as a challenge." He called for stopping the crackdown on religious beliefs and allowing society to return to a people-centered, dignity-based track.
After the speeches, Xing Songlin led everyone in chanting slogans: "Stop persecution! Respect human rights! Faith is not a crime! Worship is not a crime! Preaching the gospel is not a crime! Serving God is not a crime! Free detained Christians!" Subsequently, everyone sang hymns "Following God with an Iron Heart" and "Amazing Grace" to express prayers, persistence, and hope for Wenzhou Yayang Church and all those suffering for their faith. At the end of the rally, all participants held up placards and banners for a group photo.
Collecting Evidence of Human Rights Violations, Calling for International Accountability
After Christians left, Xing Songlin read a public statement on behalf of Voice of Anti-CCP, formally soliciting from the international community facts and evidence of He Lei, Li Bin, and other related personnel's alleged systematic violations of religious freedom and basic human rights.
The statement pointed out that on the early morning of June 24, 2025, Yayang Town Mayor Li Bin led over one hundred people to forcibly enter Yayang Church without presenting any legal judicial authorization, demolishing walls and gates, and forcibly raising the national flag within the church premises, while believers in the worship space were intimidated and coerced. At the same time, Taishun County Public Security Bureau Director He Lei was accused of abusing police power, signing and executing illegal notices targeting Yayang Church leaders and believers, providing police support for persecution, and directly facilitating and expanding the systematic crackdown on house churches.
The statement emphasized that these actions seriously violate Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and also contradict China's constitutional provisions on religious freedom, meeting the standards of the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act for serious human rights violations.
Voice of Anti-CCP welcomes eyewitnesses, victims, informants, and insiders to provide evidence and factual materials. Verified and effective leads will be rewarded with RMB equivalent of 1,000 to 5,000 euros, and the source of leads and personal privacy will be strictly protected. Any threats, intimidation, or retaliation against informants, witnesses, or believers will be recorded and treated as aggravating circumstances in international accountability procedures.
After reading the statement, Jiang Peikun burned photos of He Lei and Li Bin, while everyone chanted "Down with the Communist Party, Communist Party step down, Down with Xi Jinping, Xi Jinping step down." At 4 PM, volunteers cleaned up the sound equipment, banners, and flags at the scene, cleaned the ground, and left in an orderly manner.
Significance of the Event: Continuous Voice for Human Rights
Voice of Anti-CCP stated that this rally is the overseas Chinese community's collective response to the CCP's religious persecution and a strong show of solidarity with Yayang Church and all persecuted Christians. The CCP's systematic suppression of house churches has lasted more than ten years, from demolishing crosses to large-scale arrests, exposing its fear of faith and truth. Religious freedom is a universal value that cannot be deprived by any regime. Silence will only condone violence, and forgetting will only allow persecution to continue.
We call on the international community to:
- Continue to pay attention to the situation of Yayang Church and house churches in China
- Exert political, economic, and diplomatic pressure on the CCP
- Stop the CCP's religious persecution and make those who trample on religious freedom pay the price they deserve
- Support independent investigations and hold accountable those responsible for human rights violations such as He Lei and Li Bin
We call on Chinese authorities to:
- Immediately stop the persecution of Christians
- Revoke the wanted notices for Lin Enzhao and Lin Enci
- Release all detained believers from Yayang Church
- Respect religious freedom and basic human rights
Voice of Anti-CCP will continue to speak up for human rights in China through peaceful, legal, and orderly means, and promote international attention to CCP tyranny. We believe that persecution may silence voices, but it cannot erase the truth. Justice will not be absent, and responsibility will eventually come.
May the voice of justice cross borders and illuminate the darkness. May the brothers and sisters of Yayang Church receive peace in tribulation and see hope in darkness.
