(The Hague, May 10, 2026) — Today, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, the "World Support Day for Southern Mongolia" commemorative rally, organized by the South Mongolia Congress NL, was successfully held in front of the Chinese Embassy in The Hague, Netherlands. The rally aimed to mourn Mergen, a Mongolian nomad who sacrificed his life defending his grasslands, and to strongly protest the "cultural genocide" and forced assimilation policies implemented by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in Southern Mongolia, Tibet, East Turkistan, and other regions. Voice of Anti-CCP NL participated throughout as a solidarity group and hereby issues this press release to document this historic event.

The rally demonstrated unprecedented cross-ethnic solidarity. Representatives from Southern Mongolia, Tibet, East Turkistan, Cantonia (Guangdong), Kwangsi (Guangxi), and Jinland (Shanxi), along with overseas anti-communist democracy activists, gathered together. Outside the embassy, the Blue Flag of Southern Mongolia, the Tibetan Snow Lion Flag, the East Turkistan Star and Crescent Flag, the Cantonia Tricolor Kapok Flag, the Cantonia Independence Flag, the Kwangsi Independence Flag, and the Jinland Independence Flag fluttered in the wind.

In the face of this multi-ethnic solidarity, the Chinese Consulate in the Netherlands displayed an extremely defensive posture. Uncharacteristically, the consulate preemptively covered the metal fences outside the embassy with PVC posters, making it the only completely enclosed building in the entire Hague embassy district. Just half a month ago, when Tibetan groups held a birthday rally for the disappeared Panchen Lama at this same location, the consulate even covered its national emblem with a red cloth. These actions were viewed by protesters on-site as a reflection of the CCP regime's guilt and fear in the face of international protests.

Remembering Hero Mergen: Denouncing Ecological and Cultural Dual Genocide
Multiple eye-catching banners and posters were displayed at the rally. The main banner read: "5.11 REMEMBER MERGEN, SUPPORT SOUTH MONGOLIA, GRASSLANDS • LANGUAGE • FREEDOM," accompanied by a quote from Mergen: "They can take our lives, but they can never take our freedom." Another poster directly addressed the Chinese authorities: "STOP THE BAN ON THE MONGOLIAN, TIBETAN AND EAST TURKISTAN LANGUAGES IN SCHOOLS! STOP THE CULTURAL GENOCIDE!"

The event commenced with an opening speech by Elbereltu Borjigin, representative of the South Mongolia Congress NL. He first led the crowd in two minutes of silence for all victims who have died under Chinese rule, followed by the playing of the Mongolian song "Mother Tongue."

In his speech, Elbereltu recounted the tragic origins of the "World Day to Support Southern Mongolia": "On May 11, 2011, Mongolian nomad Mergen was brutally run over and killed by a Chinese coal truck while defending his grasslands and homeland. This incident triggered widespread protests and directly led to the establishment of this commemorative day." He severely condemned the CCP's illegal occupation and plundering of Southern Mongolia since World War II: "The CCP has been recklessly extracting coal and rare earth resources in Southern Mongolia, leading to grassland degradation, desertification, and severe pollution. Meanwhile, the CCP has implemented severe cultural repression by destroying traditional customs and enforcing Mandarin-only instruction. Out of Southern Mongolia's population of 24 million, Han Chinese now account for 18 million, while Mongolians make up only 17%. The CCP is attempting to obliterate our right to self-determination and our national identity."

Coinciding with International Mother's Day, Elbereltu paid special tribute to the "Great Mother" of Southern Mongolia, renowned activist Govruud Huuchinhuu. He stated with deep sorrow that Huuchinhuu, who strove to protect her mother tongue and culture, suffered brutal persecution and long-term house arrest by the CCP, eventually passing away from illness under strict government surveillance. "Huuchinhuu's passing remains a deep wound in the hearts of Mongolian activists. But mothers protect our culture with courage and compassion, because when our language is protected, a piece of human civilization is also protected."

Representatives from Tibet and East Turkistan: The Same Oppressive Machine, the Same Existential Crisis
Tsering Jampa, former Executive Director of the International Campaign for Tibet Europe, delivered a powerful speech. She directly targeted the assimilation laws recently pushed by the CCP, such as the "Law on the Promotion of Ethnic Unity and Progress," calling it essentially a "final solution" for the people in the occupied territories.

"This law institutionalizes assimilation policies, which means the Chinese authorities will criminalize everything that defines our national identity—our language, our culture, our religion," Tsering Jampa sternly warned. "This is one of the most racist policies ever implemented by any government. The CCP thinks the international community's focus is on Ukraine or the Middle East, thinking the world has abandoned us. But they are wrong; our attention to the CCP's atrocities is stronger than ever before." She also reminded CCP leader Xi Jinping that China, as a member state of the United Nations, has signed multiple human rights and anti-genocide conventions, yet its actions in Tibet, East Turkistan, and Southern Mongolia have seriously violated international law.

Ablet, representative of the Stichting Support Uyghur Netherlands, delivered a message of solidarity from East Turkistan to Southern Mongolia. He spoke emotionally: "We must clearly recognize: our pain is the same, our enemy is the same, and our goal is the same. We share the same breath and the same destiny."

Ablet pointed out that the CCP's ban on the Mongolian language in Southern Mongolian schools mirrors the exact suffering that Uyghurs have experienced in East Turkistan. "China is committing genocide; they want us to forget our roots, thinking they can break our spirits with concentration camps and high-pressure suppression. But they are wrong; our love for freedom is stronger than their prisons. When you fight to protect your language, you are fighting for justice, and that is why we stand firmly shoulder to shoulder with Southern Mongolia."

Representatives from Cantonia and Other Nations: Exposing the Timeline of Language Extinction
Feilong, representative of the Cantonia Independence Party, delivered a brief yet powerful speech in Dutch, clearly outlining the systematic trajectory of "language extinction" pushed by the CCP over the decades.

"I am not from Southern Mongolia, but this is also my fight," Feilong stated. "Thirty years ago, China forced the use of Mandarin in Kwangsi and banned their mother tongue; twenty years ago, they repeated this in Cantonia (Guangdong) in an attempt to eradicate our mother tongue; now, under the guise of 'national unity,' they are forcefully imposing Mandarin in Tibet, Southern Mongolia, and East Turkistan, attempting to completely wipe out their mother tongues. It is the same machine, the same method. Everything that is free must be destroyed by the CCP." He emphasized that in the face of such totalitarianism, Europe's silence is complicity, and the international community must choose human rights over mere trade.

Rally Climax: We Oppose the CCP, Not the Chinese People
Toward the end of the event, Jiang Peikun, a Cantonian activist and representative of Voice of Anti-CCP NL, led the crowd in chanting English slogans, pushing the rally's atmosphere to its climax:
"Fascist China! / Terrorist Xi Jinping! / China lie, people die! / China stop killing! / China, go home!"
Subsequently, the crowd chanted slogans demanding independence and freedom for Southern Mongolia, East Turkistan, Cantonia, Tibet, Kwangsi, and Jinland.

In the final concluding speech, Tsering Jampa issued a deafening roar toward the Chinese consulate, making a clear distinction between the CCP regime and the Chinese people: "For the past 70 years, you have been occupying our homelands, and we have had enough! We have been reduced to marginalized minorities in our own countries, with over 1.2 million Uyghurs locked in concentration camps. We need our freedom; we need our countries!"

She specifically emphasized: "We are not Han Chinese! We cannot imagine our people willingly choosing to speak Mandarin. However, we have no hostility toward the Han Chinese people. What we oppose is the Xi Jinping government and the Communist Party regime; it is they who are suppressing and occupying our countries. We do not oppose the hundreds of millions of Chinese people—the people of Cantonia, Kwangsi, and Manchuria likewise do not want the current regime under Xi Jinping."

The rally concluded amidst the chants of "Free Tibet! Free East Turkistan! Free South Mongolia! Free Cantonia! Shut down the Chinese embassy!" This "World Support Day for Southern Mongolia" rally in The Hague was not only a profound tribute to the martyr Mergen but also a historic demonstration of unity among the various ethnic groups oppressed by the CCP. The participating groups vowed: As long as the CCP's oppression and cultural genocide do not cease, the wave of resistance will never subside, and they will continue to speak out for freedom and dignity on the international stage.
