Pro-CCP Radicals Attack Peaceful Dissident Rally in The Hague; Organizers Report Transnational Repression to Dutch Intelligence (AIVD)

Date of Incident: June 20, 2026

Location: Chinatown, The Hague & Chinese Cultural Center, The Hague

THE HAGUE, THE NETHERLANDS — On the afternoon of June 20, 2026, a peaceful assembly organized by exiled Chinese dissidents and persecuted Christians in The Hague was violently disrupted by pro-Chinese Communist Party (CCP) nationalists. The organizers are currently drafting a formal report to the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD) and the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND), requesting the immediate cancellation of the attackers' student visas and their deportation for engaging in illegal transnational repression on Dutch soil.

The Peaceful Assembly and Core Demands

Initiated by Yu Yang and coordinated by Jiang Peikun, volunteers for the Voice of Anti-Communism in the Netherlands, the rally was attended by seven exiled Chinese dissidents. The demonstration aimed to expose a century of humanitarian disasters caused by the CCP and to highlight the ongoing infiltration by CCP agents in the Netherlands.

Participants displayed prominent bilingual posters and distributed hundreds of flyers detailing the Tiananmen Square Massacre and the CCP's United Front operations. The group explicitly called for an end to religious persecution against Christians and demanded the closure of the Chinese Cultural Center in The Hague—an institution they identify as a CCP propaganda apparatus—along with the expulsion of its director, Liu Wei.

("You traitors, I will remember your names!")

Physical Harassment and Transnational Repression

At approximately 3:00 PM, while exiled VPN operator Yan Jun was delivering a public speech, a couple holding Chinese student visas violently disrupted the assembly.

The radical nationalists, commonly known as "Little Pinks" (Xiaofenhong), physically assaulted the volunteers, attempting to snatch their mobile phones and sabotage the filming equipment. The male attacker actively recorded the faces of the demonstrators with his phone, issuing direct threats: "You traitors, I will remember your names!"

When demonstrators calmly questioned the attackers—asking why they enjoyed the freedom of the Netherlands while defending a totalitarian regime, and inviting them to debate the historical facts displayed on the posters—the students responded only with insults, refusing to engage in civil discourse and actively covering their faces while continuing to film the dissidents.

This deliberate act of filming and threatening exiled dissidents is a textbook example of Transnational Repression. It is a systematic tactic used by CCP proxies to intimidate overseas activists and threaten their family members still living in China. The incident, witnessed by local Dutch citizens who expressed vocal support for the dissidents, was captured on video. The footage has since gone viral, amassing nearly 200,000 views on X and Facebook, and was featured in news reports by Taiwan's Liberty Times.

Public Testimonies of the Exiled

The rally served as a vital platform for victims of CCP persecution to publicly state their cases, despite the severe risks:

  • Yu Yang (Event Organizer): Highlighted the AIVD's recent warnings regarding CCP infiltration, explaining how invisible surveillance networks create a climate of fear within the overseas Chinese community. He demanded the Dutch government shut down illegal overseas police stations and propaganda centers.

  • Yan Jun (Exiled VPN Operator): Shared his harrowing experience of providing uncensored internet access in China, which led to intense state surveillance. "Exile is not a hero's tale; it means losing everything," Yan stated, urging the free world not to take its liberties for granted.

  • Sun Xin'ai & Wang Quntao (Persecuted Christians): Detailed their escape from police raids targeting their underground church in Henan. They publicly revealed that even in the Netherlands, Chinese police recently added Wang on WeChat, demanding their immediate return and threatening their family in China.

  • Liu Bowen (Dissident): Delivered a passionate speech recounting the CCP's history of atrocities—from the Cultural Revolution to the 1989 Tiananmen Massacre and the 2015 "709 Crackdown" on human rights lawyers. He honored missing lawyers like Gao Zhisheng and imprisoned activists like Xu Zhiyong, urging the Chinese diaspora to awaken from state-sponsored brainwashing.

  • Zhang Boyang (Dissident): Speaking in English, Zhang addressed the concept of "Memoricide"—the CCP's deliberate erasure of public memory, such as the Tiananmen Massacre. He warned the Dutch public that censorship often arrives quietly, wrapped in the funding and partnerships of institutions like the Confucius Institutes.

Next Steps and Legal Action

Following the police intervention that removed the attackers, the assembly relocated to the Chinese Cultural Center in The Hague. Protesters chanted slogans demanding an end to illegal surveillance, the expulsion of CCP spies, and the defense of Dutch sovereignty against foreign interference.

The Voice of Anti-Communism in the Netherlands views the June 20 harassment not as an isolated incident, but as a coordinated attempt by Beijing to silence free speech in Europe. The public exposure of our members' identities during this attack severely escalates the danger they and their families face.

We strongly urge the Dutch authorities, including the IND, to recognize the extreme, documented risks these individuals face, and to provide them with the necessary international protection. Furthermore, we call upon the AIVD to thoroughly investigate the attackers and the broader network of CCP proxies operating within Dutch borders.
